PREAMBULE



The Raid VTT SCOTT les Chemins du Soleil is organized every year during the weekend of the ascension by the association Raid VTT, Association law 1901 registered with the INSEE with the SIRET 503 707 614 00015 , whose registered office is in Mairie, 26620 Lus la Croix Haute France.



This document defines:

- the general rules of the event,

- the general terms and conditions of sale applicable to all orders of bibs and/or options offered by the organiser to participate in the event.

This document complements the conditions of use of the online registration platform, managed by a provider for our needs. The online registration platform is a service that facilitates the connection between the organizer and the participant. The online registration platform is in no way the organiser of the event. Consequently, for the sale of products or services relating to the event, a sales contract is formed only between you and the Organizer. The Organizer is responsible for the sales of products or services relating to the event, claims or any other problem arising or related to the sales contract between you and the Organizer.
In case of contradiction between the terms of the Conditions of Use of the service provider’s online registration platform, these General Conditions of Sale and the Rules of the event, the terms of the Regulation should prevail over the General Conditions of Sale, which will themselves prevail over the Conditions of Use of the online registration platform.


The Promoter may revise and update the General Conditions of Sale and the Rules at any time; please consult them regularly. All changes that are made will apply immediately after being notified, by any means, including the publication of a revised version of the present on the website of the event www.raid-vtt.fr. In the event of significant changes to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale and/or the Rules, the Promoter will endeavour to notify you by e-mail to the email address provided when you register online.

GENERAL RULES OF THE EVENT

1. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

The event is open to all, both licensed and unlicensed, under the conditions defined below.

- Pre-selection access. A file will be approved by the jury beforehand

- Access to participants with a licence issued by a federation authorizing the practice of cycling and or mountain biking in competition, with the medical certificate for the practice of competition (UCI, FFC, UFOLEP, FSGT, FFTRI, NATIONAL CYCLING FEDERATION OF THE COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE)

- The other participants (licensees of a national federation not mentioned above or without any license) must provide: A copy of a medical certificate of no contraindication to the practice of the sport in competition dating from less than one year on the day of the race + 3 days. That is to say on the date of arrival on Sunday.

A model medical certificate is available for download at www.raid-vtt.fr.

Rando RAID: The supply of a medical certificate or a license is not obligatory because the event is not timed.

The raid is not accessible to minors in the Elite RAID and Rando RAID event (18 years old on the arrival date of the raid on Sunday)

The use of an electrically assisted MTB is prohibited on both events. Including the use of any other motorized or non-motorized vehicle not in the ATV category. Tandems are accepted but we do not recommend this type of MTB on our committed and technical routes. The organizer reserves according to the editions to deny them access if the course is deemed unsuitable for the practice of tandem VTT.



2. THE TESTS

The event is divided into two categories:

Elite RAID: It runs in teams of two and in solidarity (women’s, mixed or men’s teams) The team members must remain in contact throughout the route.. . The event is timed and gives rise to a general classification and categories (Men, Women, Mixed);

The event is divided into 4 stages: 1 night stage on Thursday evening and 3 stages from Friday to Sunday.
Rando RAID: It runs individually and without timing or ranking. The race is divided into 3 stages from Friday morning to Sunday.

3. THE JOURNEY
3.1 PRINCIPLE:

The course is divided into 3 main stages + a night prologue (Elite RAID event only)

The 2 events take place on the same stages from Friday morning to Sunday mid-afternoon.

Time gates can be imposed by the organizer depending on the length and difficulty of a stage. A second itinerary will then be proposed to the participants to join the stage of the day. This route may include portions of roads for reasons of convenience and rapidity of travel.

The stages are usually long and engaged. This event is mainly aimed at practitioners trained and accustomed to steep mountain terrain.

3.2 SIGNALÉTIQUE:

The lighting is present throughout the stages, but the use of the GPS is mandatory. Because of the length of the stages, even if the organizer carefully implements the C-C and checks the markings 1h to 2h before the participants pass, the organizer cannot guarantee 100% that the markings are not vandalized or modified by a person outside the event.

The routes are developed in consultation with local authorities and landowners. Passage permissions are often temporary and reserved exclusively for the smooth running of the event. This is why the organizer only broadcasts the gps readings of the stages one week before the date of the event and only 3 days before for the night stage Elite RAID .

We ask all participants not to subsequently disseminate the gps traces of the event either in their private circle or on websites or applications that host and disseminate databases of gps traces.

For the safety of all participants, you must respect the CODE OF THE ROUTE and the specific instructions recalled at the briefing by the race director, volunteers and representatives of the order along the way. Personnel will be present at certain intersections of roads considered dangerous but it is not possible to have people at all the crossing points. We remind that the whole route is open to traffic and other modes of travel

 

The route can be modified at any time if the organisation deems that certain conditions are thwarting the initial route. For example, after severe weather that caused a landslide, snow on the passes at altitude .... Any changes will be reported on the website or during a briefing if the event occurs during the race.

 

 

3.3 START STAGE:

Access to the starting line before each stage must be done according to the schedules communicated during the briefings. Without contrary instructions, Elite RAID teams or Rando RAID participants present themselves 20 minutes before the official start time for pre-screening.

The competitors will have to pass the check-in before the starting grid. Any omission or breach will put the Elite RAID team or the Rando RAID participant out of the race and they will be reported as not starting and not classified if necessary.

In Elite RAID the first 10 teams in general and the first three mixed and female teams will be placed at the top of the starting grid. The start is given in mass at a fixed time. Any delay will imply the downgrading of the team in Rando RAID formula. In Rando RAID, access to the airlock is free 10 minutes before the start of the event. Each participant must go through the starting line, symbolized by the arch and the line on the ground. Any failure or late departure (15 minutes after the scheduled time), will involve the abandonment and exclusion of the participant. It will therefore no longer be the responsibility of the organizer. . A team of mountain bikes closing closed the start 15 minutes after the official start time of the Rando RAID, to ensure the closure and the departure of the stage of the day.

 

3.4 ARRIVAL STAGE:

Participants must imperatively pass through the finish line to be classified in Elite RAID or considered to have arrived in Rando RAID. The Elite RAID stopwatch may be made before the official arrival for security reasons. Competitors rejoice as the official finish line on a marked and untimed section. Time measurement in Elite RAID is performed on the arrival of the second teammate. The progression of the 2 team members during the race must be done on sight, and in any event, at a maximum distance of 50 meters from each other. The organization will penalize in time any team which does not respect this rule. This observation remains at the discretion of the organizer and the course director. The violation may be noted and reported to the course director by volunteers and staff of the organization at all points on the course.

 

 

 

4. CONDUCT OF THE EVENT

4.1 PRINCIPLE:

The SCOTT mountain bike raid Chemins du Soleil is a traveling type event. The departure and final arrival place are therefore not in the same place. The reception of participants takes place on the Thursday of the ascent in the early morning and until 6.30 p.m. All participants must present themselves during this time slot to collect their frame plate and access bracelet The night prologue stage of the Elite RAID event takes place on Thursday evening from 9:30 p.m. The following days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, constitute a daily stage whose departure and arrival are not in the same places. For the safety of participants, time gates may be imposed. The organizer takes care of the logistics of transporting personal effects from the daily departure and arrival points. Luggage will be deposited at the entrance to the bivouac site daily and picked up the next day in the same place.

 

4.1.1 SPECIFICITY ELITE RAID:

The progression must be done in teams of 2 throughout the duration of the event. The organization indicates time gates beyond which any team arriving at this barrier must take a faster bis route to reach the finish. The team will be out of the classification and will no longer be able to start in the Elite RAID category for the following days. . The athletes concerned will be authorized to start in Rando RAID.

In addition to the time gates, competitors in Elite RAID must complete the course in a maximum time not to be exceeded to keep their Elite bib. At the end of each stage, the maximum time will be determined according to the time of the first one according to the following rule: 180% of the time on the first leg of the day. In this case the Elite RAID bib will be removed and a Rando RAID bib will be given in exchange so that the team members can complete the raid. Competitors who do not submit to this downgrade will be excluded. A commissioner will notify them of their exclusion and will note the frame plate number. The team will then no longer be taken care of (rescue, luggage transfer, mountain bike and person transfer ...)

 

4.2 RANKING ELITE RAID

4.3 ELITE RAID RACING PENALTIES

Progress outside the compulsory route will result in immediate exclusion from the race. A team of mobile controllers may immediately disqualify the competitors in breach.

Other penalties: This list is not exhaustive and a penalty may be decided by the race director. Time penalty according to penalties noted Withdrawal from the race: illegal assistance not authorized / on-board timing device missing or lost / progression outside official track

MALUS +1 hour: Abandonment of litter on the route / Non-compliance with the safety rules indicated in the road book / CP not marked and without proof of GPS passage

MALUS + 10mn: per missing material and per stage (survival blanket, clothing, GPS ...) / Ungrouped progress <50m / absence of fluorescent vest and front or rear lamp on the night stage MALUS + 3 min: per item missing from the first aid kit (compress, American dressing ...) /

 

4.4 ABANDONMENTS:

Except in the event of injury, if a participant wishes to give up, he must, as far as possible, give up at a signaling check point along the course. He must then contact the station manager, who notes his bib and notifies the race director. _ Or the runner is invited to join the nearest road to return directly to the bivouac either the check point is accessible to a sweeper vehicle and the runner is supported _ Or the runner must go to the nearest point of pick-up by a vehicle of the organization In case of abandonment on the course following an accident and an evacuation to a hospital, take care of yourself, the emergency services will have informed us of the situation. We will contact you to get your news and organize the recovery of your personal effects.

 

Any abandonment at the end of a stage must be reported on the finish line to the person in charge of the timing and the scores of the participants. Following an abandonment during a stage or at the end of a stage:

-This is temporary for the day's stage: You can leave the next day for the next stage. In Elite RAID you will no longer be classified, will start in the Rando RAID wave;

- If you have to skip a stage, we will transport your effects to the next stage, but you will be invited to organize your transfer to the next stage by bus, train or taxi and at your expense.

- Definitive: You leave the race and the organization is no longer in charge of managing your personal effects and your return to your vehicle.

It is strictly forbidden to leave the race without having gone to report this fact on the finish line Failure to comply with this settlement point will result in a flat-rate billing of € 100 excluding actual research costs. The organizer may initiate proceedings for having initiated research due to your negligence. The state can also directly prosecute you.

 

5. MANDATORY MATERIAL

- helmet - survival blanket (1 per person)

- warm clothing (1 fleece, 1 breathable waterproof jacket, 1 tights long, 1 hat, 1 pair of long gloves).

- 1 GPS (In Elite RAID 1 for the minimum team, in Rando RAID 1 for a group of 5 maximum)

- 1 mobile phone (in Elite RAID 1 for the minimum team, in Rando RAID 1 per group of 2 maximum)

- 1 repair kit per person

- 1 first aid kit per person with the following items 1 American bandage / 1 self-gripping band / 5 compresses / 1 Disinfectant / 1 Eye drops / 1 Sticking plaster / Some bandages / 1 Pain reliever left to the appreciation of the runner and his attending physician / 1 Antihistamine

 

5.1 NIGHT STAGE

Elite RAID In addition to the compulsory elements above, the night stage will require the equipment listed below: o a neon yellow vest for runners o 1 front light and 1 rear light in working condition and switched on before the start for each runner It will be specified to you at each briefing if you can dispense with certain elements according to the weather conditions announced. All participants must also carry the equipment provided by the organization: mountain bike plate, bracelets, timing device and / or live tracking.

 

Competitors are semi-autonomous on each stage. 2 to 3 supplies are provided per section. Plan food according to your needs and take the necessary water to fit between two supplies.

 

6. LOGISTICS AND SERVICES

6.1 LUGGAGE

The organizer will carry 1 travel bag per participant and a tent (1 for 2 people in Elite version). The luggage transferred by the organization is limited to 30 kg per person (Bag + Tent canvas). In case of excess weight, the competitor will be notified and will have to transfer his baggage by his own means (taxi ...). Baggage over 30 kg will be stored at the departure site. The organization keeps custody of it for 10 hours. After this time, the organization is no longer responsible for baggage not picked up by its owner. Any baggage not deposited daily on the loading site of the day will not be transferred to the next step. All luggage must be identifiable with the bib number. We strongly advise you to provide labels, adhesives with markers to identify your bags. Metal canteens, toolbox, repair bags and spare parts for mountain bikes in addition to the travel bag, coolers, etc. will not be covered by the organizer.

 

6.2 CLOSED MTB PARK

The organization will provide a closed mountain bike park which is monitored at each stage. Access to the park is strictly reserved for Raid VTT participants, wearing the unique and tamper-proof bracelet. The number of the bracelet must correspond to the number of the frame plate in order to be able to enter and leave the park. An anti-theft device is compulsory to deposit your MTB in the park. All entry and exit is final. Repair or maintenance in the MTB park is strictly prohibited. The opening and closing times of the park are communicated in the official program of the raid.

 

6.3 RESTORATION

2 to 3 supplies per day will be available depending on the difficulty of the stage. There is no midday meal on the steps. The supplies are suitable for mountain biking on long stages. Evening meals are provided by a caterer. The start and end times of service are communicated on the official program of the raid. Meals of your stay on the raid: Thursday evening, Friday evening, Saturday evening, Sunday noon. Breakfast during your stay on the raid: Friday morning, Saturday morning, Sunday morning The short circuit and organic products are favored by our caterer. However, only one menu per day is on the program. We cannot take into account everyone's dietary constraints and specific diets. We advise these people to be forward-looking to supplement the meals we offer.

 

6.4 MECHANICS A mountain bike wash is available on each stage arrival. Mechanical assistance is provided by a partner. You will find there if needs spare parts, and a mechanical service for the repair or the adjustment of your bike. Prices are available directly from the mechanical stand. This assistance is limited to so-called standard parts and needs. In the event of the unavailability of a component necessary for the reconditioning of your ATV, the partner may, within the limits of its capacity, offer you an ATV rental to complete the raid.

 

6.5 BIVOUAC By bivouac, we mean the provision of a pitch on a campsite or on a site suitable for a tent only. Vehicles, caravans, motorhomes are not allowed on bivouac sites. Parking spaces outside the bivouac will be indicated in the smartphone application www.mobile.raid-vtt.fr of the Raid VTT. Bathrooms and showers will of course be available on the bivouacs.

 

6.6 ELITE RAID ASSISTANTS

By assistant, we mean any person accompanying a participant in the Elite RAID event only and during the 4 days of the raid. This will be declared at registration and the team captain will pay for the 4 days. The price and content of the service for the 4 days are specified on the website www.raid-vtt.fr. He must always wear the bracelet which will be provided in the bib pack of the Elite RAID team. Access to the mountain bike park will be strictly prohibited. Any unregistered assistant will not be able to access the raid services, the bivouac site, the supplies. He will nevertheless be able to access the assistance zones on the course for his runners. The "assistants" formula is therefore just compulsory for assistants who want to benefit from meals and campsites negotiated by the organization, and the comfort of the bivouac. No on-site registration will be possible.

The race assistant formula is not accessible to participants of the Rando RAID event.

 

6.7 BUS SHUTTLES

The organization offers a shuttle bus service upstream of the raid to drop off a vehicle on arrival the day before departure. The terms and prices are specified on the raid website. This service is optional. Please note there is no shuttle bus service on Sundays to the Thursday reception site. Participants who did not anticipate this logistics point on Thursday via our shuttles, will then have to find a transport by their own means. 6.8 SECURITY The organization has an emergency system approved by the prefecture. It is made up of mobile doctors during the race and in the stopover villages, fire and rescue services (SDIS). In the event of a problem, it is imperative to notify the organization as soon as possible via the telephone number that will be communicated to you at the briefing and in the smartphone raid VTT application, or to contact a staff member who has a radio, or dial 112 directly from your mobile, when the emergency requires it. On medical advice, the organization reserves the right to disqualify and evacuate from the course any person it deems unfit to continue the event. Any participant calling upon a doctor or rescuer submits in fact to his authority and undertakes to fully accept his decisions. If necessary, and in the interest of the person rescued, emergency teams are called upon, who therefore take the lead in the operation and implement all appropriate means, including helicopter flights. Anyone who has undergone a medical or surgical intervention must inform the organization. In the absence of this declaration, the organization cannot be held responsible in the event of a major incident.

 

 

SALES CONDITIONS

 

1. REGISTRATION

Making a commitment implies acceptance of the TERMS AND CONDITIONS and the SALES CONDITIONS.

The Terms and Conditions may be updated during the pre-race briefings in the event of exceptional and unforeseen circumstances. By signing these regulations, participants undertake to respect the rules of sporting ethics, particularly with regard to French law on the fight against doping, the rules in the bivouac areas, and the respect of an eco-responsible practice of mountain biking. Any proven act of incivility will be immediately acted upon resulting in exclusion from the event. The participant involved will then be made to leave the race and make their own arrangements to leave the event and return home. 

 

2. THE REGISTRATION PROCESS

Registration for the event is done exclusively on the registration platform used by the organiser. Payment is made online at the time of validation of your registration. There is a link to the platform on the Raid VTT website, www.raid-vtt.fr .

Only online registration will be accepted. Registration by e-mail, bank transfer or cheque will not be accepted.

Any person who reserves a place for one or more person(s) is liable for payment of the full amount of the registration fee.

The opening dates for registration will be communicated on www.raid-vtt.fr, by newsletter to subscribers, and on our social networks.

Registration in Elite is only possible after a pre-selection on prior file by the internal jury of the association.

• Approval of the race jury on the competences of the athletes. The team must first submit a participation request form (team composition, recent achievements of the 2 team members)

• If the jury accepts this request, a message with the terms of registration and addressed to the team.

• If the jury declines this request, the 2 team members will then be able to register for the Rando RAID event within the limit of available places and according to the participation conditions in article 1. The team receives a registration confirmation once payment is accepted. Proof of participation is available in the customer area on our partner's website

3. RATES

Prices are available on the Raid website at www.raid-vtt.fr. For safety reasons, the organiser limits the number of participants.

Raid Rando Bib: 195 €.

Elite Raid BIB : 390 € per team

VIP Washbike: 30 €.

Bivouac VIP : 200 €

Shuttle + Biket : 40€

Shuttle without bike : 15€

Elite assistant team only : 85€

All commitments are personal, firm and definitive. No transfer of registration to a third party or postponement to a later date is permitted for any reason .

 

4. WITHDRAWAL

The Raid VTT is considered a leisure service and is exempt from withdrawal once a race number, accommodation, meals etc are purchased. This is in accordance with article L. 121-20-4 of the French Consumer Code. 

You do not have the right to withdraw from the purchase of leisure services which must be provided on a specific date or at a specific time, in accordance with the legal provisions of article L. 121-20-4 of the French Consumer Code.

 

5.  RESPONSIBILITY

Any person handing over their race number to a third party will be held responsible in the event of an accident occurring during the event. The organiser declines all responsibility in the event of an accident of this type and reserves the right to definitively exclude the participant from the Raid.

 

6. INSURANCE

In accordance with current legislation, the organiser has taken out insurance covering the financial consequences of its civil liability, that of its employees and that of all participants taking part in the event. However, the participant's insurance will be called upon if they cause an accident during the event.

It is strongly recommended that you take out Individual Accident Insurance or check that your insurance policy includes this cover, this is very important. We are insured in case of fault on our part, but if you fall and injure yourself where it's not our fault, it will be your individual accident insurance that is called upon. Therefore it is extremely important to  check that you are covered for mountain biking and to understand the extent of your personal accident cover regarding bodily injury, permanant disability or death due to an accident occurring during the event. Our organisation does not cover compensation for bodily injury or damage to participants' property.

 

7. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

7.1 LIABILITY – FORCE MAJEUR

The organiser undertakes to describe the services and products offered on www.raid-vtt.fr as accurately as possible. The organiser may not be held liable in the event of the non-performance of its obligations due to unforeseeable and insurmountable actions caused by a third party, or to a case of force majeure as defined by article 1218 of the Civil Code and by French case law. In this case refunding the participants will not be possible.

 

7.2 CANCELLATION BY THE PARTICIPANT

We remind you that any commitment is personal, firm and definitive, and cannot be refunded for any reason whatsoever without cancellation insurance and that no transfer of registration is authorised for any reason whatsoever.

We strongly advise all participants to take out individual cancellation insurance with an insurer and to check the conditions and reasons for cancellation such as illness or hospitalisation, death of a close relative, compelling family reasons, refusal of leave, covid19 ...

The online registration platform offers the option of taking out Mutuaide BeTicketing cancellation insurance when paying online. As with any individual insurance, this insurance only covers the participant and does not cover the cancellation of all or part of the event. In this case, please refer to article 10 of these rules.

7.3 CANCELLATION BY THE ORGANISER

The organiser will reimburse, on the basis of the rates at the time of payment, the full amount of the registration fee (excluding bank transaction fees for entries relating to the online registration platform) if the race is cancelled due to a fault on the organisation's part.

In the event of cancellation imposed by a competent authority (generally the State) for national health reasons, the organisation will guarantee a REIMBURSEMENT OF THE REGISTRATION FEES PAID BY THE PARTICIPANT, MINUS A FIXED AMOUNT FOR FEES COMMITTED BY THE ORGANISER, in accordance with the following terms and conditions:

•       100% refunded of the option, Washbike VIP, Bivouac VIP, Shuttle, Team assistant

•       85% of your registration fee, i.e. 165.75 euros refunded on rand raid bib and 331,5 refunded on Elite team bib.

The organiser will contact the participant within 15 days following the cancellation of the event to inform him/her of the procedure for requesting reimbursement. The refund will then be made within 30 days of receipt of the required information. Beyond 30 days after the date of official publication of the cancellation of the event, any request for reimbursement will be null and void.

 

8. IMAGE RIGHTS

By taking part in the event, competitors authorise the organisers and their assignees to use and reproduce their name, image and voice in the context of the SCOTT e-bike Raid SCOTT les Chemins du Soleil event, for use in communication and promotional media worldwide and by all known means to date.

In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978, you have the right to access and rectify any personal data. You may receive information from other companies or associations. If you do not wish to do so, simply write to us indicating your first name, surname,  and address.

Registering for the event implies that the participant must receive electronic newsletters concerning technical and informative elements related to the event.

 

9. DISPUTES AND CLAIMS

Any request can be sent by email to organisation@raid-vtt.fr or by post to Raid VTT Mairie 26620 LUS LA CROIX HAUTE.

During the event the race director is the main point of contact.

Any complaint received 2 days after the end of the Raid will be considered null and void.

By ticking the box on the registration form you automatically sign and accept the Terms and Conditions of the event.
